Corrections and open disagreements

Report a wrong number

A correction mailbox has not been set up yet. When it is ready, this page will show its address. A useful report includes:

• the page address and the field, for example “SKX007, lug to lug”;
• the value the page shows and the value you believe is right;
• where your value comes from: a document (title, page, link) or your own measurement, with the tool you used and where you measured.

A photo of the part or the document page helps. Please do not send serial numbers you would rather keep private; the year digit and the calibre are enough for a serial question.

What happens next

1. We find the document behind the current number and read the place it cites.
2. If the document says something else, the fact is corrected. If your source is a different document or a measurement, it is added beside the old one with its own label, and the page shows both until one is confirmed.
3. The fact gets the new check date, so the page’s “Sources checked” date moves, and the change is listed in the log below.

Corrections log

No corrections have been made since the reference was assembled. Each one will be listed here with the date, the page, the old and the new value, and the document that settled it.

Open disagreements

On published pages, 31 measured values — sizes, weights, rates, battery lives — are stated differently by two sources. The page leads with the best-ranked value and shows the others; nothing is averaged. A document or a careful measurement can settle any of them.
