What Casio confirms for the GA-2100
Casio specifies the GA-2100-1A1 at 48.5 × 45.4 × 11.8 mm, with a carbon/resin case and bezel, resin band, mineral glass and 200 m water resistance. Those are properties of the original watch.1 Casio also lists several distinct 2100 families, including GA-2100, GA-B2100 and GM-2100, with differing case sizes, materials and power sources.2 A kit labelled only “2100” needs a narrower fit claim.
Choose the kind of modification first
| Change | What is documented | What must be verified |
|---|---|---|
| Band or adapter | Casio supplies a resin band and a wrist-size range. | Exact watch reference, attachment geometry, spring bar or screw arrangement, and adapter-to-band width. |
| Outer bezel or case kit | Original outside dimensions and case/bezel material. | Kit revision, button travel, crystal opening, screw locations, gasket seating and caseback clearance. |
| Dial, hands or crystal | The original watch uses mineral glass and an analog-digital display. | A model-specific service drawing or direct measurement; the product dimensions alone cannot establish fit. |
The right column is a purchase checklist, not a statement that any aftermarket part will fit. Cosmetic similarity between 2100 models is weaker evidence than an exact reference and a checked mounting surface.
A four-step check before buying a kit
- Read the complete model code from the caseback and compare it with the seller's fit list. GA-2100 is a family, not the complete code.
- Ask for the kit revision and a drawing or clear underside photos. Compare the positions of buttons, screws, seals and band attachment with your watch.
- For a band, measure the attachment on the actual watch. The case's 45.4 mm width is not a strap measurement, and Casio's compatible band-size range describes a wrist, not a lug gap.
- Keep the original parts and photograph the assembly before disassembly. If the kit changes a seal or the watch is opened, arrange a water-resistance test after reassembly.
Water resistance after a modification
Casio's 200 m specification belongs to the factory watch, not to an untested combination of aftermarket parts.1 Casio says that gaskets need periodic replacement and that water resistance should be checked by a trained technician during battery service.3 If a mod disturbs the case, crystal or gasket, have the assembled watch pressure-tested before treating it as water resistant.
For the factory figures, see the GA-2100 model page. The current visual builder helps compare looks, but does not validate mechanical fit.
